Its core functionalities include starting, stopping, and setting power levels, and it also supports additional features, such as fan control and lighting when installed above a range. This connectivity allows users to manage microwave operations remotely while also integrating with other smart kitchen devices.

Each Microwave Oven device includes several clusters for operation, including the Microwave Oven Mode, Microwave Oven Control, and Operational State clusters. The Operational State cluster handles functions like the countdown timer and cooking state (e.g., running, paused, or stopped), while the Microwave Oven Control cluster allows setting specific cooking parameters. Optional clusters include Fan Control for ventilation and On/Off Light, which can be configured to illuminate the cooking surface when the microwave is installed above a range, providing added flexibility and user convenience.
