Bosch’s Smart Kitchen Dock has achieved Matter 1.3 certification, according to the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) database. The approval confirms that the multi-purpose hub meets the newer interoperability requirements, building on its Matter 1.2 certification from last October.

The CSA compliance files indicate that the Smart Kitchen Dock will continue to serve as a Matter bridge under the 1.3 specification, though Bosch has not disclosed any changes to supported device types or enhanced features so far. In theory, certification suggests the development is done and will be released soon, as we saw with SmartThings and Ikea. However, the timeline could be different for firms like Bosch.

Under its existing Matter 1.2 framework, the dock bridges a wide range of basic device categories. Home Connect, Bosch’s smart home division, states that the unit can connect washing machines, dishwashers and fridge/freezers from Bosch, Siemens and Neff appliances on the Home Connect platform to join other Matter-certified ecosystems. Unsupported devices will be bridged as basic types such as light bulbs.

What is does the Bosch Smart Kitchen Dock offer?

Hardware highlights include a built-in smart speaker system with two 41 mm active drivers and a passive resonator, plus a charging stand for tablets and smartphones. Designed for countertop use, the dock carries an IP43 rating for splash resistance, making it suitable for food preparation environments.

On the software side, the device can work with popular recipe apps – including Foodfittery, Simply Yummy, Sally and Kitchen Stories – and offers gesture navigation via an integrated infrared sensor. Amazon Alexa integration enables voice control of connected appliances and basic queries, with Home Connect providing custom Alexa Skills for status reports, usage guidance and on-screen navigation.

By securing Matter 1.3 certification, Bosch demonstrates the dock’s compliance with evolving smart home standards with a bridge. In the meanwhile, the firm saw moves to introduce more native Matter and Thread devices like door sensors and smart thermostat valves to the market.
