China-based DEWENWILS has gone from a relatively unknown player in the smart home space to a contender in just a matter of months, thanks to a torrid pace of affordable product releases—and it doesn't appear to be stopping soon. The company has just launched yet another Matter-compatible device designed for outdoor lighting on Amazon—the DEWENWILS Wi-Fi Matter Smart Dimmer Plug.

Available in single and dual outlet versions, the DEWENWILS Wi-Fi Matter Smart Dimmers feature a black plastic chassis with a short power cord lead, flat plug head, and mounting slot around the back. According to DEWENWILS, the plugs are IP44 weather-resistant rated, and can withstand temperatures ranging from -4~113 degrees Fahrenheit, allowing them to reside safely outdoors all year round.

Unlike other outdoor smart plugs, both models include a wireless remote control in the box for convenient offline power and dimming adjustments with a 100-foot range, while also sporting onboard power controls on the front of the units. Where the two differ, though, is their rated load capacity, with the single outlet model topping out at 150 watts maximum for LED lighting, compared to 200 watts for the dual outlet dimmer.
When it comes to dimming, both plugs support stepless full-range 1-100% adjustments, and DEWENWILS claims that they are free of flickering. And, as with other smart devices from the company, the dimmer plugs connect to Matter Controllers directly over 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi without a separate gateway unit.
With Matter, users can expect to see basic power and dimming controls, as well as scene, automation, and voice command options through Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, and SmartThings. The plugs appear to lack Matter 1.3's energy monitoring capabilities, and it is currently unclear if the two outlets on the dual model work independently.
