Matter-over-Thread pioneer Eve Systems has unveiled a new climate control duo. This includes a refreshed, Matter-native generation (fifth gen) of the Eve Thermo smart radiator valve and an entirely new product category for the brand, the Eve Smart Thermostat for underfloor heating.

With winter arriving in the Northern Hemisphere, Eve joins the seasonal rush of smart heating announcements. The new devices feature a refined design and leverage the latest Matter-over-Thread connectivity to promise improved stability and expanded local control capabilities through updated firmware.
Eve Thermo smart radiator valve
The re-engineered Eve Thermo features native Matter support and operates locally without reliance on cloud services or subscriptions. The device automates heating based on presence, lowering the temperature when a room is empty and resuming heating when occupancy is detected. Users can configure time-based schedules to regulate individual rooms according to daily routines.

The valve also utilizes open window detection to pause heating automatically when ventilation is sensed. Control capabilities include voice commands via major platforms, app-based management, and direct manual adjustments using the built-in LED display and touch controls.
Additionally, Apple Home users can pair the valve with the Eve Thermo Control sensor to measure and maintain temperatures based on a specific location within the room.
New Matter capabilities
The latest hardware is expected to run firmware 3.6.5, which unlocks advanced Matter 1.4 features. This update shifts significant intelligence directly to the valve itself. Here are some key additions from previous Matter 1.3 firmware for the last gen Eve Thermo.
Built-in comfort modes: The hardware now supports native “Thermostat Presets,” storing modes like “Eco,” “Comfort,” or “Sleep” locally. This reduces network traffic and latency because the app commands the device to switch to a pre-saved state rather than sending a manual temperature value every time.
On-device schedules: Enhanced scheduling allows the Thermo to store multiple profiles directly in its internal memory, such as a work week versus a holiday schedule. This ensures heating transitions happen precisely on time, even if the internet goes down or the smart home hub is offline.
Atomic requests: To protect these complex schedules, the firmware utilizes “Atomic Requests.” If a connection drops while updating a weekly routine, the device automatically cancels the operation. This prevents the thermostat from getting stuck with a broken or partial schedule.
Precise manual overrides: When you manually adjust the temperature, the device can now calculate and report a specific “Setpoint Hold Expiry” timestamp, rather than just a vague countdown.
Eve Smart Thermostat
Eve is also expanding into hydronic underfloor heating with the all-new Eve Smart Thermostat. Designed to replace standard wall-mounted controllers, it features a clean, all-white aesthetic with a central digital display for current temperature. Three physical buttons allow for mode switching and temperature adjustments, mirroring the interface found on the standalone Eve Thermo Control.

Pricing and availability
According to the German publication matter-smarthome.de, the new Eve Thermo Radiator is priced at 79.95 euros ($93.06). The outlet also reports that the Eve Smart Thermostat is priced at 119.95 euros and is expected to be available in 2026 Q1, initially targeting regions including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
