Chinese security camera maker Ezviz held a release event this week to announce a new smart home camera featuring native Matter support. The new model, C6c 4K, utilizes a classic pan-and-tilt design aimed at providing comprehensive room coverage.
Its Matter 1.5.1 certification is currently in progress, meaning the broader smart home market will soon see more diverse camera options joining the few currently available choices, such as those from Aqara.
4K visuals and smart night vision
The core upgrade of the C6c 4K lies in its optical hardware. The camera delivers an upgrade in visual clarity utilizing a high-resolution 4K Ultra HD lens. This ensures that fine details in the monitoring area do not go unnoticed. Equipped with a large F1.6 aperture and built-in hardware spotlights, the lens renders colorful, vibrant details even in extreme low-light conditions. When operating in total darkness, the camera adds active illumination to maintain visibility. You can opt for a dedicated smart mode that effortlessly switches between standard black-and-white infrared and full color night vision depending on the environmental lighting needs.

To expand the viewing area beyond a fixed angle, the Ezviz C6c 4K offers massive rotational coverage. The motorized base features 340 degrees of horizontal panning and 130 degrees of vertical tilt, essentially guaranteeing complete visual coverage so nothing escapes sight in large living spaces. The camera rotates automatically to eliminate blind spots using a patrol mode. This feature allows users to customize specific patrol patterns tailored to their exact room layout. The lens can automatically zoom in up to four times to follow a moving person, capturing specific facial details while maintaining the whole picture.
Local AI detection
Ezviz includes AI-driven smart detection directly on the device without requiring a subscription. The C6c 4K distinguishes people and pets from other moving objects to reduce false notifications. It also features loud noise detection capabilities, capturing sudden sound level changes in the area to notify users if a playful pet breaks a vase or a baby begins crying. For family communication, the camera includes an interactive feature.

Children or elderly family members can initiate a direct video call to the paired smartphone simply by posing a victory hand sign at the lens or touching the physical call button on the camera body.
Connectivity and storage
To maintain a reliable video feed, the C6c 4K supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6 compatibility across both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. It utilizes H.265 video compression tech, creating a smoother viewing experience while using about half the data storage space required by older H.264 standards. Users can secure important moments locally on a massive 512GB microSD card or subscribe to the Ezviz CloudPlay service.
Ezviz told Matter Alpha the new camera will support video streaming/preview and pan-tilt control natively via Matter. The C6c 4K is expected to hit the global market between late June and mid-July. According to the company, it will release more IP camera models later this year, featuring different form factors specifically designed for indoor, outdoor, and battery-powered applications.
