SwitchBot has announced two new additions to its smart home lineup – the SwitchBot Lock Ultra Vision Combo and SwitchBot Hub 3 available from May 22, 2025. Both products aim to expand the brand’s Matter offerings.
SwitchBot Lock Ultra Vision Combo
The Lock Ultra Vision Combo packs a smart lock with a keypad and a Matter-enabled Hub Mini. It introduces 3D facial recognition, using infrared points to generate a facial map, stored locally with encryption.
According to SwitchBot, the authentication takes under a second and guarantees good performance in low-light conditions.
The lock supports various unlocking methods, including facial recognition, auto unlock, NFC cards, fingerprint recognition, app control, and voice assistants. Designed for compatibility with most of the existing locks – including EU profile, UK oval, Swiss round, and Night-Latch formats – it installs without drilling or permanent modifications.
The built-in system maintains a constant Bluetooth connection with the keypad for quicker response times. SwitchBot claimed that the upgraded motor in it provides faster unlock speed and stronger torque with quiet operation.
Power comes from a three-layer system: a main rechargeable battery rated for up to 12 months, a backup CR123A battery, and an electrolytic unlock option for emergency use. The lock has a slim profile, includes decorative wooden-pattern pads, and implements a six-stage security system.
SwitchBot Hub 3
The Hub 3 is a control hub for infrared and Bluetooth devices. It supports over 100,000 IR devices and bridges SwitchBot products to Matter platforms like Apple Home.
A physical rotary controller allows adjustment of settings like temperature and volume. The hub also includes customizable scene buttons and sensors for monitoring indoor and outdoor conditions. These inputs can be used to build automation routines that respond to temperature, humidity, or other environmental data.
SwitchBot also plans to preview additional products on its YouTube channel, including the AI Hub, Smart Video Doorbell, K20+ Pro vacuum, Garage Door Opener, Plug Mini (EU), Safety Alarm, Smart Radiator Thermostat, and a new lighting series.
The Lock Ultra Vision Combo will be available for 299.99 euros/$249.99. A separate Lock Ultra Touch Combo with fingerprint support – but no facial recognition – will be offered for 249.99 euros/$209.99.
The SwitchBot Hub 3 will be priced at 129.99 euros/$119.99 and available through the company’s website and Amazon starting May 22.
