Ever wanted your smart home to tell you what to wear based on the weather? That could be about to happen with the announcement of the SwitchBot E-Ink Weather Station, described as the “ultimate all-in-one weather station.”
Boasting a 7.5-inch e-ink display, this is positioned as a one-stop solution to your household’s schedule, and has Matter support via the SwitchBot Hub 3 and other Matter-enabled hubs from SwitchBot.
The SwitchBot E-Ink Weather Station’s features
The idea of this device is to unify the important information you need to go about your day. So, there’s today’s weather, a five-day forecast, and data like air quality, sunrise and sunset, and so on. With SwitchBot environmental sensors attached, you can get more localised data, such as temperature, humidity, and air quality.

A smart E-Ink weather and home dashboard for viewing forecasts, air quality, calendars, reminders, and smart home scenes from one shared screen.
These sensors can be positioned in key areas, such as baby bedrooms, greenhouses, gardens, etc. Notifications can also be configured for when information (e.g. temperature) hits or passes custom preset limits.
SwitchBot have highlighted the following features:
Ultimate All-in-One Weather Station: See weather, indoor/outdoor conditions, air quality, time, and forecasts on one 7.5-inch E-Ink display.
Smart Calendar for Easier Household Planning: Sync multiple calendars and view family schedules with sound reminders on one shared screen.
Multiple Theme Views: Choose from 6 theme views to display the information that best fits different daily needs.
One-Touch Smart Home Control: Use 2 customizable scene buttons to trigger devices or smart home scenes without opening the app.
User-Centered Smart Functions: Enjoy flexible placement, long battery life, front light, alarms, and Matter support via SwitchBot Matter-enabled hubs.
Meanwhile, USB-C charging is supported, but the SwitchBot E-Ink Weather Station has a built-in 5000mAh rechargeable battery. This should deliver up to 12 months of power.
The Matter features appear to be quite minimal, but the potential for interesting integrations and automations remains strong. And as stated, the device can act as a control for two scenes (essentially that means automations – say, curtain control) without you having to trigger the devices manually in the SwitchBot app.

But I am personally intrigued by the calendars. This doesn’t just provide an easy way to glance at what you’re doing each day (vital for me!) but also offers a platform for task management around the home. Better still, it syncs with Google, iCloud, Outlook, Yahoo, and other calendars via a .ics URL, and supports 5 accounts. That should be overkill in most homes, but it is exactly what is needed in mine if I’m going to get everyone working on household tasks rather than just the two adults...
When can you get the SwitchBot E-Ink Weather Station?
The SwitchBot E-Ink Weather Station is out today. Note that while it is perfectly usable on its own, you will need a SwitchBot Hub 3 to benefit from Matter integrations. A tool like this could be the answer to your family’s scheduling and task management challenges…
...but it’s not the only weather-themed Matter-compatible unit available. Eve Weather does something similar, so it will be interesting to see which integrates better with your smart home setup.
A retail price of $109.99 is available for US buyers, from both Amazon and SwitchBot direct. The SwitchBot E-Ink Weather Station is also available in Canada and the UK.
