The Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn) took place this week, serving as a critical hub for the global lighting industry. The Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) was present, signalling the growing importance of Matter in the sector. Amidst the countless new products, several noteworthy Matter-enabled devices and prototypes stood out, offering a glimpse into the future of the connected home.
Here are some of the key products we found on the show floor.
ThirdReality ceiling light
ThirdReality showcased a series of lighting products, including a new ceiling light prototype. The Matter-over-Wi-Fi light features a large, round design with a metal-drawn circular frame. During the demonstration, the light from its white case was gentle, and the brightness appeared remarkably even, with no obvious bright or dark spots – a common issue in some entry-level lighting. The prototype is capable of color adjustments and dimming.

ThirdReality told Matter Alpha that lighting products would be a new focus for the brand, suggesting we can expect more Matter-enabled lights with their signature innovative features.
Longan Link Tech wooden scene switch
Longan Link Tech displayed a series of Matter-over-Thread devices, including metal wall toggles and light drivers. A standout prototype was a new wooden scene switch. The switch is tiny – roughly the same size as Aqara’s wireless button – but its body is made of real wood. It also features two magnets on the back, allowing it to be mounted on a refrigerator or any metal surface, adding a cozy and natural vibe that contrasts with the plastic common to most smart buttons.

Internally, the switch utilizes the Generic Switch device type in Matter. This means it will appear as a programmable button in most Matter smart home platforms, allowing users to trigger different scenes and automations with various press actions. According to Longan Link Tech, the scene switch is currently a demonstration unit for potential smart home partners.
Bweetech Thread lightbulb
A new local exhibitor, Bweetech, displayed a range of ambiance lighting products under its FrancyLink brand, similar in scope to offerings from Philips Hue. One of the key products at its booth was a Matter-over-Thread lightbulb.

The bulb is a standard A19 shape with an E27/E26 mount. The packaging notes it is an 8.5-watt, 800-lumen bulb, equivalent in brightness to a 60-watt incandescent. It offers both full RGB color and tunable white capabilities for most home spaces. Bweetech staff told Matter Alpha that the lightbulb is still in the process of official Matter certification and that the company intends to introduce more Matter-over-Thread options in the future.
Zemismart IR thermostat
Zemismart unveiled an intriguing new sample. At first glance, the device looks like a typical temperature and humidity sensor, with a small screen displaying current conditions. However, a black ring around the display houses an IR blaster. This device is designed to bridge infrared-controlled devices, like air conditioners, to the Matter ecosystem, allowing them to be controlled by Matter platforms.

The device itself appears to be an evolution of the company’s recently certified gateway and IR thermostat, signaling a deeper push into bridging IR devices to Matter. The unit is powered via a USB-C cable and sits on an adjustable stand, similar to their existing Zigbee motion sensor. The sensor is built on the power cable to avoid interference from the heat generated by the device.

It will reportedly use Wi-Fi for connectivity. Zemismart has yet to announce a specific release date for this device.
Chuandian Intelligence light drivers
Chuandian Intelligence, a local company specializing in LED drivers and controllers in partnership with IoT solution provider Tuya Smart, had a series of Matter-over-Thread light drivers at its booth. These drivers are the power source and brains for installed lighting like LED strips and ceiling fixtures.

The lineup ranged from 60W to 480W models, with many featuring premium metal cases for optimized heat dissipation in professional installations. The current models are designed for main light sources, offering dimming and white-tuning capabilities rather than full color.
Leaguer PLC Matter bridge
We also got a live demonstration of the Leaguer PLC Matter bridge, a device we previously reported had passed Matter certification. The bridge itself was smaller than expected. It uses Power Line Communication (PLC) to receive signals from other PLC devices directly through the building's existing AC electrical wiring. It then bridges those devices to Matter via its Ethernet port.

Leaguer demonstrated the system with Apple Home and SmartThings (while Tuya remained unplugged), seamlessly controlling a blind motor, spotlights, and light switches. They also showed how custom-created scenes could be ported to Matter as a switch for easy triggering. The most impressive part of the demo was when the bridge was unplugged: the local PLC light switches continued to operate normally and instantly, showcasing the robustness of PLC technology.
PLC Bridge
A smart home bridge that connects PLC-based devices to Matter platforms through your existing electrical wiring, offering reliable, wall-proof, no-new-wiring connectivity.
Leaguer claimed this is the first PLC-to-Matter bridge in the world. It’s a powerful demonstration of Matter’s potential for large-scale business and commercial use. Existing installations can be easily integrated into the Matter ecosystem without rewiring. Leaguer staff told Matter Alpha that more device types would be added to the bridge in the future.
