AiDot has launched a clever new Matter-compatible solution for recessed ceiling light fixtures of all sizes—the Linkind Retractable BR30 Matter Smart Light Bulb. As its name suggests, AiDot's latest smart bulb features a unique retractable design that enables three distinct mounting methods, allowing users to customize their indoor lighting to best suit their home's needs.

Out of the box, the Linkind BR30 smart light bulb measures 3.75 wide by 5.04 inches long, making it suitable for 5/6 inch recessed fixtures with an E26 base. While its width can't be adjusted, its length can, thanks to the bulb's telescopic body that can be extended up to 6.9 inches maximum.
According to AiDot, the additional length gives owners three installation and finish options: flush for even lighting, recessed for a directed accent lighting, or extended for diffused mood lighting. Each installation type is enhanced by the bulb's inclusion of four independently addressable AuraScape color zones—three around the side of the Matter bulb, and one on the bottom facing downward.
When it comes to specs, the BR30 is fully dimmable, supports over 16 million colors with tunable white temperature adjustments between 1800-6500k, and can output up to 850 lumens of brightness. The bulb also sports energy monitoring capabilities, supports dynamic scenes with music sync, and all four color zones can be set through the AiDot app.
Similar to the company's original Linkind A19 Matter Smart Bulbs, the new BR30 bulb connects to Matter over 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi. The bulb works seamlessly with Apple Home, SmartThings, Alexa, and Google Home, without the need for an additional hub or account, although users will need to register with the AiDot app for the aforementioned exclusive features.
