Almost a year and a half after turning heads at CES 2025, Schlage's Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt finally has a launch date. First introduced as a glimpse into the future of home access, Sense Pro brings the company's vision to market with Matter, Aliro, and Schlage Converge Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology onboard to enable hassle-free entry regardless of a user's preferred smart home ecosystem.

As a refresher, the Schlage Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt—available in black and silver finishes—features an unassuming front panel designed to blend seamlessly with a wide range of residential doors. The panel's modern design forgoes a physical hardware key slot in favor of a digital, touch-based keypad that fades away when not in use, creating a clean, overall appearance that can store up to 250 custom access codes.
Similar to previous Schlage smart locks, the Sense Pro is powered by four replaceable AA batteries that can operate up to six months with standard usage. When they are running low, a visual indicator will appear on the lock's front panel screen, and if completely drained, users can connect a USB-C power bank for temporary access.
According to Schlage, the new deadbolt is DIY-friendly with an "easy installation" process that fits most single-bore doors. Other hardware highlights include a built-in security alarm and a lifetime warranty that covers mechanical portions and its finish.
Matter, Thread, UWB, and Aliro too
The Schlage Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt also includes a suite of touch-free wireless connectivity options built-in, including Matter-over-Thread compatibility—a first for Schlage. With Thread, users with an appropriate Border Router can take advantage of the wireless protocol's power-efficiency and low latency, while its mesh networking capabilities allow for greater reliability and range.
In addition to Thread, the lock also works with tried-and-true, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks right out of the box without the need for a dedicated hub device. Both wireless options support all of the major smart home ecosystems thanks to Matter, including Apple Home, SmartThings, Alexa, and Google Home as well as the Schlage Home app, which offers scheduling, remote access, advanced device settings and more.
Another first for Schlage is the Sense Pro's compatibility with the CSA's Aliro standard. Like Matter, Aliro aims to unify smart lock controls by offering a base set of essential features and digital wallet keys that work across ecosystems and personal devices—all of which will be brought to the Sense Pro once it passes certification.
Digital Wallet keys will be powered by the Ultrawide Band radio inside the Sense Pro, allowing for true "hands-free" operation that unlocks entry ways automatically when approaching. While Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet support is coming at a later date, Apple Home users can leverage the technology at launch through Home Keys generated by Apple's smart home app.
Pricing and availability
The Schlage Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt will be available in the United States and Canada beginning June 29th through Amazon, Lowe’s, Home Depot, and schlage.com. Both finishes will be available at a suggested retail price of $399.99 U.S. ($549 CAD) when they hit stores later this month.
