Accessory maker UGREEN recently received Matter certifications for its new smart home ecosystem, which includes the HomeAgent hub and two security cameras. Following those filings, the SynCare Indoor Cam ID500 Pro is now officially available for preorder alongside the new hub.

This rapid rollout gives you another option in the emerging Matter camera space while introducing a local smart home system built around private data storage. By combining 4K video hardware with an on-premise AI hub, UGREEN is using Matter to tie local recording and multi-platform smart home control together without relying on cloud subscriptions.

Base spec

The UGREEN SynCare Indoor Cam ID500 Pro features an 8MP sensor capable of 4K HDR video. It uses a 4mm lens with an F1.6 aperture, 8x digital zoom, and starlight night vision to handle challenging indoor lighting. For full room coverage, the motorized base supports 360-degree pan and 111-degree tilt control, alongside automated motion tracking that keeps people and pets centered in the frame.

The camera connects over dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi 6 and draws power through a USB-C port rated for 5V DC at 2A. It also includes a built-in physical privacy shutter for visible protection when you do not want the lens active, and it can be mounted on a desk, wall, or ceiling.

Instead of sending footage to the cloud, the ID500 Pro stores video locally on the UGREEN HomeAgent, a Matter controller and AI power house. Running on UGOS Pro, the HomeAgent acts as a central local AI hub and network storage system that processes visual data, baby crying alerts, and keyword event summaries right in your home. You can also use natural voice commands to check live camera statuses or pull up event histories hands-free.

Key Matter features

Compliance documents from the Matter certification filing show that the ID500 Pro runs on the Matter 1.5.1 spec, allowing the camera to stream video, transmit audio, and record clips directly via Matter.

Within the camera settings cluster, the PICS file confirms full support for both digital and mechanical PTZ over Matter. You can adjust pan, tilt, and zoom directly from your Matter platforms, as well as save PTZ presets.

The camera also exposes native Matter controls for two-way talk, speaker and microphone volume, infrared night vision, HDR mode, image flipping, and status light brightness. It reports both soft privacy modes and its physical hard privacy shutter state over Matter, while keeping onboard video and snapshot storage disabled since recordings are routed to the HomeAgent hub.

The camera can expose detection events as well, which supports user-defined 2D Cartesian zones for both motion and focus, complete with zone triggered and stopped events alongside global sensitivity adjustments.

A faster move in the Matter camera race

Many smart home companies have announced plans for Matter cameras as brands like Eve, TP-Link, Xthings, and Ezviz see the clear potential in local operations and a lower barrier to entering major smart home ecosystems. However, almost all of these brands have either delayed or slowed their actual product releases, leaving Aqara as the only available option on the global market right now.

UGREEN is striking fast by moving quickly from its initial product showcase to official certifications and open preorders. Delivering a working camera to buyers ahead of established security brands gives the company an early foothold as platforms like Home Assistant begin rolling out native Matter camera support.

This hardware launch also highlights a broader shift in how manufacturers approach the smart home standard. More companies now view Matter as a strong foundation for localized implementations. This growing confidence is pushing hardware makers to build full ecosystems around Matter rather than just standalone accessories, which makes core features like Multi-Admin and local operation truly practical for your everyday setup.

Preorder pricing and availability

You can reserve the new hardware now through the official UGREEN crowdfunding campaign page. The base UGREEN HomeAgent HA100 hub is priced at $799 for early backers with a $50 reservation deposit, down from its $1,599 retail price, while the higher-spec HA100 Pro is available for $2,699.

Once you reserve a HomeAgent unit, you can purchase the SynCare Indoor Cam ID500 Pro as an add-on for an early-bird price of $89, compared to its $149 retail price. Two outdoor cameras, the OD600 Pro and OD800 Pro, are also listed as campaign add-ons for $159 and $199.
