The SwitchBot AI Hub is the world’s first smart home hub with a Vision Language Model (VLM) AI, enabling it to interpret visual events, summarize them in text, and use that information to trigger automations.

When paired with cameras like the Pan/Tilt Cam Plus 2K/3K or the SwitchBot Smart Video Doorbell, the hub can recognize and describe what it sees — for example, noting when you left your phone or detecting activity at the door. These text-based summaries can be searched within the SwitchBot app and even used as triggers for customized automation routines, greatly reducing the complexity of setting up intelligent responses in dynamic situations. The hub also generates daily event summaries for a clear, privacy-conscious overview of household activity.

Equipped with 32GB of local storage (expandable up to 1TB), the AI Hub avoids subscription fees while keeping sensitive footage private. Powered by a 6T AI chip, it can handle local recognition tasks, manage up to eight 2K cameras, support RTSP streaming, and output directly to a monitor. It also connects over dual-band Wi-Fi and extended Bluetooth, and bridges 100+ devices with Matter Over Bridge support, allowing seamless integration across different smart home ecosystems.
