SwitchBot Motion Sensor

The SwitchBot Motion Sensor is designed to detect movement reliably across a wide area, covering up to 30 feet with a 110° horizontal and 55° vertical detection range. Paired with its built-in light sensor, it can distinguish between bright and dark environments, enabling context-aware automations such as turning on lights only when motion is detected at night.

Its small, wireless design and magnetic base allow flexible placement on walls, ceilings, or furniture, making it easy to position in hallways, bedrooms, or entry points. When connected to a SwitchBot Hub, the sensor can trigger other SwitchBot devices like the SwitchBot Bot, enabling hands-free lighting control and smart routines.

The motion sensor also supports remote alerts when movement is detected while you’re away, adding an extra layer of awareness. By automatically turning lights off in empty rooms, it helps reduce unnecessary energy use and lower electricity costs. Matter support is available via a SwitchBot Hub, extending compatibility with broader smart home platforms.
