The Yale Linus Smart Lock L2 Lite is a compact, round-knob retrofit that mounts on the inside of your door and works with common European profile and Swiss round cylinders, so your exterior hardware stays put. The headline feature is Matter over Thread with Bluetooth on board, which means it joins your smart home locally and responds fast, while remote control through the Yale app still calls for the optional Yale Wi-Fi bridge. If you live in Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, or SmartThings, you’re covered through Matter without extra accessories.
Yale trims the body and the price, but keeps the quality-of-life stuff: KeySense gives you a quick press-to-unlock from inside, Auto Unlock can greet you at the door, and you can pair a Yale keypad for code entry; Home Key isn’t supported here, which makes sense for an interior-only retrofit. Power comes from three CR123 batteries to fit the smaller housing, and the whole package is slated for a December 3, 2025 release at €139, positioning it as a budget-friendly sibling to the full L2 with built-in Wi-Fi. It’s a neat, quiet upgrade path if you want Matter and Thread without reworking your door.
