It also doubles as an entry-level smart home hub, giving you voice control over compatible devices like lights and plugs. Alexa’s tens of thousands of skills extend its usefulness even further, from relaxing sounds to games and trivia.

Privacy is protected with multiple layers of safeguards, including a mic-off button and a light bar indicator that only turns blue when Alexa is actively listening.
