Aqara Hub M200

The Aqara Hub M200 is a smart home hub built to juggle a lot at once, and that is really the point. It works as a Matter Controller, a Thread Border Router, and a Matter Bridge, so it can pull Aqara devices and select third-party gear into one setup without feeling like a patchwork fix. In practice, that means it can connect up to 40 Aqara Zigbee devices and 40 Thread devices, then pass them along to platforms like Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and Home Assistant while still keeping Aqara-specific functions in the mix. That is the trick here: it is not just passing signals around, it is also trying to preserve the features people usually lose when they move devices between ecosystems.

There is also a 360-degree IR blaster built in, which gives the hub a second life as a bridge for older remote-controlled gear, especially air conditioners. It can send commands, detect when a physical remote was used, and report updated status back to the system, which makes the setup feel less blind than typical IR control. Paired with an Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor, it can even present an IR air conditioner to Matter as a thermostat, though only one AC unit can be exposed that way. On the hardware side, the M200 supports dual-band Wi-Fi, PoE for cleaner installation, and USB-C power from a mini-UPS or power bank, so it can stay running when the rest of the network gets a little shaky. Add in a built-in speaker for alerts, alarms, doorbell sounds, and custom audio, plus local automation for Zigbee and Matter devices, and you get a hub that is clearly aimed at homes where reliability matters just as much as features.
