The smart home brand AiDot, along with its lighting brand Linkind, announced a new firmware update for its smart bulbs that brings them up to the Matter 1.4 specification.
This is a surprising and significant release, as AiDot and Linkind are one of the first brands to roll out a major Matter 1.4 upgrade to existing lightbulbs; many other brands have not yet moved beyond Matter 1.3. The move highlights a commitment to the platform, likely supported by AiDot’s parent firm, Leedarson, which is a major Matter solution provider with extensive experience in testing and migrating Matter product certifications.

What’s new in the Matter 1.4 update
The new firmware delivers several key features, moving beyond basic bug fixes to add new functionality. The main points are as follows:
Adaptive Lighting: The update introduces support for Adaptive Lighting, a feature primarily available in Apple Home. This allows the bulbs to automatically adjust their color temperature throughout the day – providing cooler, energizing tones in the morning and warmer, relaxing tones at night.

Performance Enhancements: The update delivers broad improvements to the user experience across all major Matter platforms, including Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Home. Users can expect faster pairing, better responsiveness, and a smoother automation experience.
Multi-Admin Stability: The new firmware also includes enhanced capabilities for multi-administrator support, making the bulbs more stable and user-friendly in households where multiple people or ecosystems are used to control devices.
How to install the update
According to AiDot, the new features will be pushed to all eligible Linkind smart bulbs via an OTA (over-the-air) wireless firmware update. These updates are typically handled automatically by a user’s Matter controller (such as an Apple HomePod or Google Hub) without requiring a separate app.
After the upgrade, the firmware on the Matter platform should show version 3.0.0. The first two models to receive the update are the A19 and BR30 color bulbs. AiDot stated that they will release the Matter 1.4 firmware to more light bulb devices in the future.

More about the two lightbulbs
The Linkind A19 bulb is the classic “Edison” shape (A-series) with a standard E26 screw base, designed for most lamps and common light fixtures. This is a full-color (RGBTW) bulb with 16 million colors and tunable whites. It features a high Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 90+, which provides more accurate and natural-looking colors compared to typical smart bulbs. It has an 800-lumen output (a 60W incandescent equivalent) while consuming only 9W of power.
It also features a wide color temperature range, adjustable from a very warm 1800K to a cool 6500K. The AiDot app also enables extra features like 104 preset scenes and two music sync modes.
Linkind A19 Smart RGBW Bulb E26
The Leedarson Color Bulb A19 800lm lets you control your lights from anywhere in the world from your smartphone or tablet. The RGBW Retrofit produces beautiful, high-quality light that you can tune, dim, and create rich indirect light scenes in your home in thousands of colors and 1800-6500K white.
The Linkind BR30 bulb is a floodlight, designed for the 5-inch or 6-inch recessed “can” fixtures commonly found in ceilings. This full-color (RGBTW) model is also a high-performer, with a high CRI of 90+ and the same wide 1800K to 6500K color temperature range. It is notably brighter than many competitors, with some versions producing 650 to 1,200 lumens (a 65W-85W equivalent) while consuming 8W to 14W. Like the A19, it also supports music sync and preset scenes through the AiDot app.

The firm also saw a series of new Matter certifications recently, including variations of a Linkind Smart Filament Bulb under the same Matter 1.4 spec, suggesting a release soon.
