Smart home industry veteran Jasco has launched a trio of new Matter-over-WiFi outlets under its Enbrighten line today on Amazon. The latest releases include a unique outdoor yard stake and a pair of dual-outlet plugs that bring smart controls to both the indoors and out.
Enbrighten Vibe Wi-Fi Outdoor Yard Stake
Headlining today's launch is the Enbrighten Vibe Wi-Fi Outdoor Yard Stake, a first-of-its-kind outdoor power solution. The two-piece outdoor plug is designed for ground installation with a stake that keeps the unit upright, while its top half is home to six—yes, six—grounded smart outlets capable of powering outdoor equipment and seasonal decor.
Despite having six total outlets, Jasco's Yard Stake treats them as one entity that operates simultaneously. Unfortunately, this means that it's all or nothing when it comes to Matter smart home controls, so you'll only see one total outlet when connected to your preferred ecosystem.
The Yard Stake has a green, plastic chassis reminiscent of classic outdoor timers and plugs with an on-device power button positioned at the top. The unit measures 2.75 x 2.75 x 9 inches, but its reach goes beyond that with a generous 19-inch cord lead that extends from the bottom stake area.
On the safety front, each outlet is protected by a spring-loaded auto shut door mechanism that keeps water and the elements out when not in use. The plug also features an integrated circuit breaker that can be reset on-device with a physical button, and the whole package is marketed as a "year-round" offering.
Enbrighten Vibe Wi-Fi Dual-Outlet Outdoor Smart Plug
Also for the great outdoors is the Enbrighten Vibe Wi-Fi Dual-Outlet Smart Plug. As its name suggests, the new plug features two onboard 15-amp grounded outlets, each operating independently through Matter and all of the major smart home ecosystems.
The outdoor plug sports a two-part design with a black plastic frame commonly seen with Matter-compatible outdoor smart plugs. According to its technical specifications, the plug measures 1.5 x 2.6 x 10.5 inches with a short, flat-head lead cable near the top, allowing for placement within standard outdoor electrical boxes.
The heart of the unit dangles below, with its outlets facing downward, and on its face is a large LED status indicator and a manual power toggle button. Around the back are two mounting points—a keyhole and a loop—for permanent installations.
While a specific weather-resistance rating is not mentioned, Jasco touts the outdoor plug as being "All-weather rated". The company's marketing materials depict the plug being used during rainy conditions and as a solution for winter holiday lighting, giving us reason to believe that its weather-proof rating is either IP44 or IP65.
Enbrighten Vibe Dual-Outlet Indoor Smart Plug
Last but not least is the Enbrighten Vibe Wi-Fi Dual-Outlet Smart Plug, a compact offering that crams two Matter smart plugs into one affordable unit. Enbrighten's dual smart plug measures just 2.7 x 2.5 x 3.5 inches, and even with two outlets, it doesn't block the other outlet in a standard North American electrical arrangement.
Details surrounding the 15-amp dual outlet plug are scarce at the moment, but its listing confirms that each outlet works independently of the other. However, we cannot find any mention of support for Matter's energy monitoring capabilities or references to water-resistance, so it appears to only offer basic on and off controls for dry areas indoors.
As with all of the new releases, the dual outlet plug connects to Matter over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi without the need for a dedicated hub. All that is required to get it up and running is a Matter Controller and a quick scan of its QR pairing code.
Through Matter, the plug can be used in automation and scenes alongside other smart home devices in Apple Home, Alexa, SmartThings, or Google Home. The plug also supports Jasco's Enbrighten app, which provides scheduling and timer options.
Enbrighten Vibe Matter-over-WiFi Smart Plugs: pricing and availability
All three of Enbrighten's latest Matter smart plugs are available for purchase now through Amazon in North America. Pricing starts at $19.99 for the indoor smart plug, while the outdoor dual-plug and Yard Stake are priced slightly higher at $25.99 and $29.99, respectively.
