If you’re interested in expanding the possibilities of your smart home set-up, you’ve probably already considered a robot cleaner. Typically equipped with vacuum and mopping functionalities, these devices scoop up dust and hair around your home, conveniently cleaning along the most power-efficient routes.
Matter-certified robot vacuum cleaners are beginning to gain prominence in 2025, thanks to the Matter 1.4 specification.
This means the introduction of interoperable and secure robovacs into homes thanks to Matter’s future-proofed connectivity standard.

1. Roborock Saros Z70 Robot Vacuum
This is perhaps the most audacious robot cleaner yet. Forget cleaning in corners and going upstairs. With the Saros Z70 from Roborock, you get a robot that actually tidies up for you.
You may have seen the Roborock Saros Z70 in videos on social media. It features a retractable robot OmniGrip Arm that picks up items – socks, shoes, small toys, etc. – and deposits them in a pre-determined location. And of course it can clean (22,000Pa sucktion) and mop and dry.
Meanwhile this robot cleaner can cope with hazards like cables, irregular walls, and can climb onto flooring 4cm above the standard height of your room, with a chassis system called AdaptiLift. The mob retracts to 22mm, and meanwhile the unit is just 3.14-inches high, making it one of the slimmest robot cleaners around.
Having garnered a lot of attention at CES 2025, the Saros Z70 uses dual cameras and can do all the things other Roborock cleaners can, like detect pets and their, uh, mess.
This is the pinnacle of robot vacuum cleaner tech, and as such is priced to match, retailing from $2,599.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
A Matter iteration of the Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni robovac arrived in late 2024, building on the square-edged cleaner's impressive edge-to-edge cleaning, and claims a 99.8% improvement on cleaning coverage compared with competing devices.
With hot water support (many older robovacs only use cold water), 8000Pa suction and a 15mm lift feature for rugs and carpets, the X2 Omni also has mapping and object avoidance.
The X2 Omni also has a self-emptying docking station, where the robovac cleans itself and recharges.
3. Roomba Combo 10 Max

You’ve got to feel a bit sorry for the Roomba brand. With a catchy name and seemingly cornering public perception of robot cleaners a decade ago, the iRobot brand has somehow found itself at the back of the pack when it comes to Matter implementation.
You get the feeling they were caught out by their competitors adopting Matter so early, but the Roomba Combo 10 Max is an attempt to get in on the act.
With a dual mop and vac mode (both can unsurprisingly be used individually and together), the Roomba Combo 10 Max has Matter-over-Wi-Fi and a multifunctional base. This empties the Roomba, and cleans the mop, as well as recharging robovac between cleans.
Mapping, zones, and object identification are all included, making this a good choice of robot cleaner.
4. Switchbot K10+ Pro Combo Vacuum
If your Matter robot cleaner requirements need augmenting by an upright vacuum, the Switchbot K10+ Pro Combo kit has everything you need for under $500.
So, that’s a robovac, a self-emptying dock, and an upright. The only shortcoming is that you will also need a Switchbot Hub 2, but other than that this is a great option, which we explored more in our Switchbot K10+ Pro Combo review.
Reviewer James Bruce noted that “The SwitchBot K10+ Pro Combo is an interesting set that allows it to tackle more daily cleaning tasks than your average robovacs, though it might not be suitable for really large spaces that want the most powerful robovac possible.”
A more expensive alternative, the Switchbot S10 Vacuum which has dual docking stations and greater suction, also features Matter.
5. Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni S1 Pro
A flagship device in the Eufy automated cleaning range, the Omni S1 Pro is compatible with Matter 1.3 and boasts a somewhat oversized docking station.
Known as the 10-in-1 UniClean Station, the device auto empties the robot cleaner, and charges 20% faster than similar units. It also has automatic washing and refilling, waste water collection, air drying, support for detergent dispensing, and an antibacterial dust bag.
Meanwhile, the robot cleaner itself has 8000pa suction, and 3D obstacle avoidance. The Eufy robot cleaners are designed for improved corner sweeping and vacuuming. As well as dual brushes, the device is square rather than round.
A variant, the S1 Pro+RDS, has leakproof automatic filling and draining via mains water supply inlet and outlets.
Also from Eufy is the more affordable X10 Pro Omni Robot.
