Linkind's new Matter-compatible smart plug doubles as a nightlight

Just when we thought we've seen it all when it comes to smart plugs, AiDot surprises us with the launch of the all-new Linkind Matter Smart Plug with Night Light. As its name suggests, the new plug not only adds smart controls to older appliances, but it also includes a built-in nightlight making it a compelling option for hallways, kitchens, or bedrooms.

Similar to most Matter-compatible smart plugs, Linkind's latest offering sports a space-saving design that allows for multiple units to be stacked on a standard North American outlet. The 15-amp plug can handle loads up to 1,800 watts maxiumum, and includes short circuit and overload protections, as well flame-resistant materials throughout its frame.

Positioned at the bottom of the plug is the built-in nightlight, which can produce up to 30 lumens of 2,700K soft-white light. The nightlight is fully dimmable (1-100%), and can be toggled via a double-press of the plug's on-device button, remotely through smart home controls, or automatically thanks to a built-in daylight sensor.

Like other Linkind products, the new plug connects to Matter over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi without the need for an additional hub. The plug supports Matter's simplified pairing process which only requires a scan of the included QR code to get it up and running with platforms like Apple Home, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, or Google Home.

Once connected, users can add the plug to their existing routines and automation, and toggle it remotely from anywhere in the world. The plug also works with the AiDot app, which offers timers, scheduling, and grouping, as well as exclusive features like enabling the automatic light sensor mode.
