Govee continues to shine brightest in the smart home lighting market, not only because of their sheer range of lighting fixtures available — from stunning outdoor multi-LED bulbs to sparkly christmas fairy lights and 9ft-wide pixel displays — but also because of their unwavering support for Matter. At IFA 2026, Govee is focussing on three new lights, and we think they’re all pretty special.
Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro
Debuting at IFA, the Outdoor Lights 2 Pro feature an industry-first dual RGBICWW LED design, offering independant upper and lower lighting zones with an angled mounting system. Govee's LuminBlend+ color management technology ensures accurate color reproduction and smooth transitions, while the AI Lighting Bot 2.0 can generate dynamic scenes for you. The lights are spaced 71.5cm apart, and offer 55 lumens max brightness each, and can be easily cut and spliced to suit gaps in the roofline.
The Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro will be available from September 7th in the US only, with the 100ft kit retailing at $500, and the 200ft model at $800, and will be sold alongside the slightly pricier Permanent Outdoor Prism Lights (our review), which features three LEDs in a horizontal arrangement in each module. No matter what look you're trying to achieve with outdoor lighting, it seems Govee will have something suitable.
Sky Ceiling Light
First shown at CES and closely following the launch of the Govee Ceiling Light Ultra, you might be wondering if the Sky Ceiling Light seems a little plain in comparison. It doesn't contain a high-density matrix of LEDs, and it can't display animated GIFs. Instead, the Sky Ceiling Light focusses on the quality of light being emitted, getting as close to sunlight as possible with up to 7000 lumens of brightness, a CRI of 95, and a temperature range of 1,000 to 10,000K — as well as a custom 487nm sky-blue wavelength to maintain alertness.
To enhance the feeling of natural light, the Sky Ceiling Light fixture is designed to emulate an actual skylight, so installation is a little more involved than usual. That's because it's sits inside your ceiling, rather than mounted just beneath it, in order to give the illusion that light is coming from further away. Govee is also touting an "industry-first AI-powered mood-responsive" lighting system that can respond to user's needs, though it's not clear exactly what this means yet. DaySnc will also feature, where the lighting follows a natural daily cycle or even the weather, so as not to interrupt your circadian rhythm.
Of course, the Sky Ceiling Light can do RGB, and fully integrates with DreamView for immersive movie viewing and gaming. But if you're struggling with no access to sunlight, that's the real power of the Sky Ceiling Light.
COB Strip Light 2 and 2 Pro
COB lighting — which stands for Chip-on-Board — refers to how the LEDs are mounted within a light. COB lighting contains densely packed but smaller LEDs directly on the strip, rather than SMD, or Surface-Mount Device, which has a distinct larger RGBWW chip every inch or two. COB has a few benefits, but the main one is aesthetic: you get a much smoother gradient of lighting, without the visible “pixels” that you can often see in neon strip lights or basic LED strips. COB lighting can also have better thermal management, and achieve higher overall brightness, though this will depend on the intended purpose.
The Govee COB Strip Light 2 is intended to use as a structural highlight, following the straight lines of a corner or ceiling. The COB light is housed under a white silicone sleeve and rigid plastic channel, helping to achieve a more diffused and smooth gradient.
Available in 2m (6.5ft) and 5m (16.4ft) lengths, the COB Strip Light 2 Pro packs 1344 LEDs per meter and offers a color rendering index of 92 for accuracy with white lighting. At a maximum 540 lumens per meter in white mode, it's impressively bright. The standard COB Strip Light 2 drops that down to 840 LEDs/m, and while brightness isn't stated, we can infer around 340 lumens/m.
The 5m Pro model is set to retail $170/€180, while the standard COB Strip Light 2 will be $100/€120, available on Govee and Amazon from September 4th in the US and EU.
