Aqara China has quietly added two essential products to its local installer catalog: the flagship Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 and a Smart Day & Night Honeycomb Blind developed with an external manufacturing partner.
Both support Zigbee and Matter over Thread, but they expand Aqara’s portfolio in different directions. The FP400 brings the company’s most advanced spatial sensor to its home market, while the new blind moves Aqara beyond standalone curtain motors into a complete custom shading system.
The low-key launch is notable. Aqara unveiled the FP400 globally at CES 2026, but its 60 GHz radar had left questions around a domestic release. The blind, not literally an Aqara-branded product, is also designed around professional installation rather than normal retail, with its fabric, transmission parts, and mounting hardware selected separately.
FP400 reaches Aqara’s home market
The Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 is the Matter upgrade of its iconic FP2 presence sensor. It uses mmWave radar and AI algorithms to track the real-time position and posture of up to 10 people, reporting whether they are standing, sitting, or lying down.
The sensor covers an area up to 10 by 8 meters and supports smaller positioning grids for room zones and automations. Wall or ceiling installation can add multi-person fall detection, while exclusion zones help reduce alerts caused by movement outside the intended detection area.
A built-in light sensor adds illuminance data, allowing automations to consider both occupancy and ambient lighting conditions.
Aqara positions it for large homes, offices, healthcare environments, and other projects where installers may need to understand where people are located rather than simply whether a room is occupied. Aqara has introduced the sensor globally as part of its broader spatial intelligence strategy for residential and commercial spaces.
Its arrival in China is more unusual because the FP400 uses a 60 GHz radar. Aqara’s more recent FP310 for the Chinese market uses a 24 GHz radar, giving the company a risk-free option for domestic installations.

China’s new radar radio management rules took effect Jan. 1, 2026, with new approval requirements for radar equipment. However, the public regulations do not clearly explain how an indoor 60 GHz consumer presence sensor such as the FP400 is classified.
Offering it through installers may give Aqara more control over where and how the sensor is deployed while avoiding a wider retail launch for now.
Day & Night Honeycomb Blind
The Smart Day & Night Honeycomb Blind AM49 combines two fabrics and two independently controlled motors in one blind.
A translucent section can soften daylight while preserving privacy, while the second fabric provides stronger shading at night. Users can also combine the two sections to block direct afternoon sun or pause the blind partway for ventilation and balanced daylight.
Conventional day-and-night installations often require two separate blinds or layers. The new option from Aqara and its partner puts both functions into one assembly, reducing the space around the window while allowing each section to move independently.
The blind supports widths from 0.5 to 3 meters. Its dual-drive motor uses two 6 mm hexagonal shafts, with a rated torque of 0.8 N/m and a speed of 34 rpm. Aqara says the two-shaft arrangement improves stability and helps prevent twisting when driving larger blinds.
This is not a normal ready-to-install Aqara accessory. The package includes the motor unit, power cable, remote control, and setup documents, while the fabric, transmission parts, and installation components are sold separately. That makes the product better suited to installers who can measure the window, select materials, and assemble the complete system for each project.
The blind runs on 220V power and carries an IP42 rating. Power consumption is rated at 14W with one motor operating or 26W when both are used.
An expanding ecosystem with Matter
It is somewhat surprising to see more products carrying the Works with Aqara badge. But after years of investment in its Matter Controller platform and dual-protocol devices, the strategy is beginning to make more sense. Aqara can now use Matter not only to connect its own products, but also to bring more third-party devices into both residential and professional installations.
Aqara Hub M3
The Aqara Hub M3 is a Matter-compatible gateway that connects and manages up to 128 smart devices, facilitating local device automation without relying on Wi-Fi.
Aqara Hub M100
The Aqara Hub M100 is a compact, entry-level Matter Controller with Wi-Fi, Thread, Zigbee, and USB-A power, serving as a Thread Border Router and Matter bridge for Aqara and third-party devices.
Aqara Hub M200
The Aqara Hub M200 is a Matter Controller, Thread Border Router, and Matter Bridge with support for Aqara Zigbee and Thread devices, IR control for traditional appliances, PoE and dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity, local automations, and a built-in speaker for alerts and audio functions.
This also gives Aqara more room to expand its ODM and platform business. Rather than building mainly for MiHome or its own ecosystem, the company can provide Matter-ready hardware and software to a wider range of manufacturers. Those partnerships can strengthen Aqara Home and its installer network at the same time, giving users more device options while helping Aqara extend its tech beyond products carrying its own brand.
The Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 and Smart Day & Night Honeycomb Blind AM49 are now available through selected Aqara installers in China. Neither product currently has a general retail date for the global markets.
